As i've let on about my 850TDi gearbox plans, i thought i'd share a bit more of the info

& here's a comparison between a M56LK from the 850TDi on the left, & a normal M56 on the right (note the starter motor positions)

yeh the final drive is highest out of all Volvo gearboxes, 1st is lower & 5th is higher. Its the speed differences that gets me tho, give so much more top-end. On the 1/4mile i should only need 3rd so will save me changing gear before the line

yay picked up my gearbox last night, blokes says it was off a V70 2.5TDi not an 850, but it has got the Audi mounting face so hope they didn't change the ratios Very Happy

there really isn't much difference between them, think its purely the mounting brackets that have changed
